A passion for excellence
Ross Howcroft-Jones, a Performance Cycling Coach and Educational Intervention Specialist based in North Wales. With a background spanning international sport in both football and cycling, alongside senior pastoral leadership, Ross works at the intersection of performance, behaviour, and development, supporting both amateur athletes and young people operating under pressure.
Ross’ main competitive focus specialises in the UK hill climb scene and was part of the National Championship winning team for 2025 with Team Lifting Gear. He also competes in across UCI events which led to qualification for the 35–39 age group World Championships in both Gran Fondo and UCI Gravel in 2025, representing Great Britain. Alongside ongoing competitive involvement, this experience informs a coaching approach focused on event preparation, pacing, course specific training, and a concise approach to timing athletes form for A, B or C priority events.
In parallel, Ross delivers structured youth mentoring and educational intervention across North Wales, with extensive experience in behavioural interventions, alternative provision, and pastoral leadership. This work is underpinned by a Master’s degree in both Leadership and Reflective Practice, completion of the Aspiring Senior Leaders programme, and a commitment to project management for positive outcomes.
Safeguarding and wellbeing sit at the core of all services. Ross holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and is Level 3 Safeguarding qualified, ensuring that all work with young people is delivered to the highest professional and ethical standards.
‘I’ve always worked towards goals; and being part of the process in helping others achieve theirs is extremely rewarding. Building good relationships and trust is what we pride ourselves on for the best individualised service.’
‘I believe in the power of 1:1 coaching; in a world fuelled by cookies and coaches selling mass products, we pride ourselves on delivering a meaningful, premium package individualised to each athlete or young person’
